Best FBO Lounges at Austin-Bergstrom Airport for Private Aviation Travelers

Signature Flight Support vs Atlantic Aviation — the real differences between the two FBOs at AUS.

James R. Mitchell April 25, 2026 7 min read

Austin-Bergstrom International (AUS) handles a remarkable volume of private aviation traffic for a commercial airport — third-busiest in Texas for general aviation operations. Two FBOs split that traffic: Signature Flight Support and Atlantic Aviation, both located on the west side of the airfield. For most Austin private jet travelers, the FBO you use is determined by which operator's aircraft you charter, but the experience differences are worth knowing.

Signature Flight Support — AUS

Signature is the larger of the two AUS FBOs in terms of ramp space and lounge footprint. The terminal features a modern executive lounge with workstations, conference room rentals, full concierge service, and a barista bar. Ramp access is fast and the building sits a short drive from the main terminal complex but well clear of commercial traffic.

Operations: 24/7. Fuel: Jet A and 100LL. Customs: pre-arranged. Crew amenities and pilot lounge on premises.

Atlantic Aviation — AUS

Atlantic Aviation operates the second FBO at AUS, with a smaller but consistently well-reviewed lounge and a reputation for friendly, attentive ground handling. The crew here is known for fast turn times and remembers repeat travelers, which matters more than amenity lists when you fly the same airport regularly.

Operations: 24/7. Fuel: Jet A and 100LL. Customs: pre-arranged. Conference room available.

What Actually Differs

  • Operator base — most charter aircraft are based at one or the other; your aircraft choice usually picks the FBO
  • Ramp position — Signature's ramp is slightly closer to the runway, marginally faster taxi out
  • Lounge style — Signature feels more corporate, Atlantic feels more boutique
  • Catering — both arrange catering through the same Austin vendors; preferences travel with you

What Both Do Equally Well

Both AUS FBOs offer: heated/cooled lounges, conference rooms, complimentary refreshments, secure parking inside the gate, rental car coordination, ground transportation arrangements, customs and immigration pre-clearance, fuel and ground handling for visiting aircraft, and full-service catering. Either is a credible departure point for any Austin private jet trip.

The Alternative — Austin Executive (EDC)

If FBO choice matters to you and you have any flexibility on departure airport, Austin Executive Airport (EDC) is worth considering. Single-FBO, no commercial traffic, faster ramp access, closer to North Austin. Many regular Austin private travelers have shifted to EDC over the past five years for exactly these reasons.
